Journalists from over 10 media outlets in China recently visited the key industrial parks and enterprises in Nantong to experience its strong integration into the Yangtze River Delta and its high-quality development.
Here are some of the sites they visited.
Entering the Rudong Economic Development Zone (High-Tech Zone), these journalists were impressed by the thriving enterprises. At Hanvo Safety, journalists marveled at the functional gloves and protective equipment made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers.
Zhang Wufen, the company's deputy general manager, said that in recent years, the company has focused on innovation, breaking foreign monopolies and forming a complete industrial chain of safety and protective products, becoming one of the leading enterprises in the global security industry.
Through complementary advantages and coordinated development, Nantong is further aligning with Shanghai and integrating more widely into southern Jiangsu, injecting more vitality into high-quality development.
In 2010, the governments of Jing'an district in Shanghai and Nantong signed an agreement to jointly develop the Shanghai Shibei Hi-Tech (Nantong) Science City, and the aforementioned journalists visited the city to learn about its development and current status. The science city has attracted over 300 sci-tech innovation enterprises, with a total investment exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion), of which about 40 percent are from Shanghai.
At the Hengli (Nantong) New Materials Industrial Park, the media group experienced the charm of new quality productive forces. They visited the spinning workshop with the largest single-unit production capacity in the world, boasting an annual production of 600,000 metric tons, where they learned about Hengli Group's scale, industrial layout, types of products, and corporate culture.
