A group of teenagers from the United States recently concluded a 12-day summer camp in Nantong, Jiangsu province, at the invitation of Nantong Vocational University, to immerse themselves in traditional Chinese culture.

Over 12 days, the campers engaged in activities like blue calico and kite making, visited the Yangtze River estuary and the century-old Tangzha town, among others, gaining a richer understanding of Chinese culture.

At the closing ceremony, Chu Jinxing, principal of NTVU, congratulated the American youth on their successful completion of the cultural journey.

Chu recalled the memorable moments of the exchange camp: the paper-cutting art and ink painting classes capturing Jiangnan's misty rain, exploring the wisdom behind Suzhou gardens' design, and everyday activities like dormitory chats, cycling, and making zongzi.

He emphasized that NTVU is committed to fostering a cultural bridge across the Pacific. He urged the campers to carry forward Chinese-American cultural exchange, bringing youthful energy to the friendship between the two countries.

The successful organization of this camp has effectively promoted mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and American youth. It highlights NTUV's commitment to the national strategy of opening up and enhancing international cultural exchanges and cooperation, laying a solid groundwork for the future development of high-level youth cultural exchanges.
