General situation

The Grand Union of Innovation Shushan Park covers an area of 1,237 mu (about 82 hectares) and has a total construction area of more than 1.62 million square meters. It consists of two parts – the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) area and the Science Island area, which hosts the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

The park adopts a market-oriented approach to optimize the use of existing space and create new space for innovation and entrepreneurship. It aims to build a comprehensive platform for scientific research, technology transfers, talent cultivation and international cooperation. Some of the key projects include the USTC Science Park, the Doctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park, the New Medicine and New Engineering Achievement Transformation Platform, the Science and Technology Market Service Center and the Science Innovation Comprehensive Complex. The park also plans to connect the east, middle and west campuses of USTC with an integrated channel and improve the surrounding environment.

The Grand Union of Innovation Shushan Park boasts rich resources and advantages in science and technology innovation. It has an area of 460,000 square meters, another area under construction of 410,000 sq m and a planned area of 750,000 sq m. It also provides complete facilities for commercial, medical and education services.
