Li Weihong

Li Weihong was born in March 1955, in the city of Xinle, Hebei province, and graduated from Shanxi University in political science in 1973. She was a vice-minister of education, and a member of the ministry’s Leading Party Group, a director of the State Language Work Commission, vice-chairwoman of the National Society for Party Building Studies, and a member of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

May 2010, Li Weihong became the vice minister and a member of Leading Party Members’ Group of the Ministry of Education, and the director of the State Language Commission

October 2005 - May 2010, she was a member of Leading Party Members’ Group and vice minister of the Ministry of Education;

March 2002 - October 2005, Li served as director of personnel affairs division and a member of Leading Party Members’ Group of the Ministry of Education;

1999 - 2002, Li served as director of Ministry of Education’s personnel affairs division;

1993-1999, she worked as deputy director of the personnel affairs division of the State Education Commission and Ministry of Education;

1990-1993, Li served as head of the personnel office of the State Education Commission’s personnel affairs division;

1989-1990, Li worked as an official in the training office of the State Education Commission’s personnel affairs division;

1986-1989, she received a three-year postgraduate program at Party School of the Communist Party of China Central Committee;

1984-1986, she served as deputy secretary and secretary of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Datong Committee;

1976-1984, Li worked as a teacher and secretary of the Chinese Communist Youth League of Datong No 2 Middle School;

1973-1976, she studied at the Political Science Department of Shanxi University;

1970-1973, Li worked in Datong-based Hongqi Cement Plant in Shanxi province.
