Yang Shihua

Yang was born in April 1954 in Gujiao, Shanxi province, and is a Party member, a senior economist, and chief operating officer of the Bank of China with a bachelor’s degree from Shanxi University’s foreign language department in 1975. He is also chairman of the Chinese Users Association of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication and a member of the China International Finance Society.

2008 – now: BOC chief operating officer and a member of its executive committee and vice chairman of its operating service committee.

2006 – 2007: Director, BOC’s blueprint office and GM of BOC HQ operations dept.

2004 – 2006: Governor and Party chief of BOC’s Hebei branch.

1984 – 1997: Asst manager, deputy director, and director, import and export office BOC’s Shanxi branch.

1978 – 1981: Translation work on engineering and technology, Shanxi Chemical Fertilizer Plant.

Academic work He has done translation work for industrial technology, patents and specifications for many years and has done research on banking technology for 30 years. As head of the International Chamber of Commerce’s China bank and technology committee, he makes suggestions on international trade disputes for courts and arbitrators.
