Shanxi University (SXU) has added another chapter to its glorious profile as it just crowned an university cultural knowledge contest held from Dec 12 to 13.

The contest, co-organized by education departments of five provinces, municipalities and autonomous region in north China respectively Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia, has been held for five times. It is the first time Shanxi University finished top at the contest, a breakthrough record.

The SXU team put forward fabulous performance throughout the four sessions of the competition. Its created poem which euloguzes Guan Yu, famed Chinese ancient general of late Eastern Han dynasty respected as an epitome of loyalty and righteousness received awesome feedback from the judges and audiences.

In last session, team members acted the role of Du Fu, prominent Chinese poet of the Tang Dynasty universally dubbed as “Poet-Sage”, and demonstrated the immortal sentiment and indomitable spirit of the poet thourhgout the revivification of three periods of the his legendary life. The stage play was an absolute stunning cultural showcase helping SXU team stood up to the highest podium with a total score of 779.13 points.

Other universities that took part in the contest are Renmin University of China, Tianjin Normal University, Hebei University, Jining Normal University of Inner Mongolia and Zhengzhou University.
