Shanxi University’s Academy of Fine Arts was awarded at the 10th National Digital Art Design Competition.

The academy won one gold medal and five silver awards in all. Wang Zhijun, a teacher at the school, won the gold with an illustration he created. Silver winners and works included Huo Ran, an undergraduate majoring in digital media, with the cartoon titled Truth; graduate Wang Wenxin with the Projection Robot; Chen Jun, a teacher, with his industrial design of a hanging armchair; graduate Chang Feng with a cartoon entitled Wandering around Outer Space with my Grandpa; and a video created by graduates Fan Tao, Liu Na, and Wen Yiqi.

The contest is meant to recognize exceptional digital artwork and industrial design created by college teachers and students across the country. Work can be submitted in any discipline but should be industrially based — from visual arts, spatial design, industrial design, marketing arts, operations and research portfolios. It was funded by Skyworth Group, one of the top TV brands in the world, and co-sponsored by the China Video Industry Association, Information Technology Ministry, and Science and Arts Alliance of Chinese Universities. It is China’s largest competition in the digital design sector. [Photo/sxu.edu.cn]
