UWA academic joins SXU as distinguished professor

Zhang Dongke from the University of Western Australia was appointed a distinguished professor at Shanxi University on Jan 14.

An expert in combustion research, Zhang developed an interest in fire during his childhood. During his prolific academic career, he has written and edited a great number of publications concerning industrial furnaces and kilns, coal, hydrocarbons (oil and gas), ignition and explosions, the environment, energy, and heat transfer. He works at the University of Western Australia, a research-oriented university and one of the Australian Group of Eight –– a group of Australia’s leading research universities.
