Shanxi University's Institute of Management and Decision has been included as a source for Chinese Think Tank Index (CTTI), a think-tank search engine and data management system.

The institute becomes the only one in Shanxi province to be included among the CCTI's 489 think tanks.

CTTI was developed by joint efforts of the Center for Chinese Think Tank Studies and Evaluation of Nanjing University and the Think Tank Research and Release Center of Guangming Daily.

CCTI fine-tunes its list of think-tank sources every two years. Shanxi University will remain as a source from the beginning of 2017 to the end of 2018.

The institute has achieved great success in recent years, with many of its academic papers sourced by bodies such as the Science Citation Index (SCI) in America, and the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI). It contributes to the economic construction in Shanxi by cooperating with local enterprises.
