Representatives from colleges in Taiyuan gathered at Shanxi University on Feb 24 to discuss employment after graduation.

A deputation from China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center, headed by the vice-director Ning Xiaohua, and officials from education departments in Taiyuan attended the conference.

At the conference, representatives introduced their employment statistics and exchanged ideas on resource and data sharing, as well as the construction of a professional group and information platform.

Ning expressed his approval on current employment assistance and gave his best wishes for the future.

"Colleges need to further enhance career guidance for students and contribute to the construction of relevant subjects and teaching groups, promoting career services," he said.

College graduates in Shanxi province will hit a record high of 220,000 in 2017, according to Shanxi Evening News. Businesses have provided more vacancies for students graduating this year, but demand for jobs currently outstrips supply.
