Deng Xiaojun, a professor from the Central Conservatory of Music, and Meng Zhaoyi, a famous actress, both spoke at the music school of Shanxi University recently.

During his lecture, Professor Deng Xiaojun introduced the techniques of intonation, rhythm and pronunciation in Italian opera performances.

Meng's lecture focused on Chinese pronunciation in opera performances. She also gave her views on stage performances and the relationship between humans and art.

Both lectures aroused great interest among teachers and students.

After the lectures, Deng and Meng were appointed as distinguished professors at Shanxi University.
