Professor Xing Deshan from Guodian Science and Technology Research Institute delivered a lecture on controlling pollution from thermal power plants at Shanxi University on March 31.

As a leader of several national environmental protection projects for thermal power plants, Xing has significant experience and has made great academic achievements in the field.

The lecture mainly focused on Xing's experiences of helping to control pollution from thermal power plants.

During the lecture, Xing talked about current technological problems in controlling pollution and proposed new techniques for desulfidation which can better control and recycle sulfur and nitrogen in waste gases.

Xing also shared his views on the make-up of research teams and the implications for national projects, which aroused great interest among teachers and students.
