Summit on insect development and genetics held at SXU

The third national summit on insect development and genetics was held at Shanxi University (SXU) from April 27 to 29.

The three-day event focused on metamorphosis, development, genetic control, and the immunity mechanisms of insects with 23 different academic reports presented.

More than 100 scholars and experts from domestic colleges and scientific research institutes, such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University and China Agricultural University, attended the summit and discussed the research of insect genetics and development.

Li Sheng, director of the Insect Development and Genetics Committee at the Entomological Society of China, reviewed the previous sessions and recognized the contribution of SXU’S Applied Biology Institute to insect development and genetics.

The summit will help expand the influence of the Applied Biology Institute and boost biology disciplines in the university.
