Xie Xiaolin, a professor of chemistry and dean of the Graduate School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), recently delivered a lecture on laser holography at Shanxi University.

Faculty members and students from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Department of Molecular Science, Department of Resources and Environment and the Research Institution for Crystalline Materials attended the lecture.

During the lecture, Professor Xie first briefly introduced the latest development in the field of polymer composites before stressing the importance of laser holography in the application of anti-forgery treatments and discussing how his research team successfully used laser holography to create anti-forgery patterns. Professor Xie also expounded on how he managed his research team and how to promote the educational development of students.

Professor Xie, winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, mainly focuses his research on liquid crystal chemistry and laser holography, optoelectronic material chemistry, polymer composite technology and processing rheology. He is the author of several articles published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society and Angewandte Chemie International Edition. He also has undertaken several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
