In recent years, Shanxi University has sent nearly 20 sophomores to the University of Minnesota for further study, based on an exchange agreement between Shanxi University and University of Minnesota, Duluth branch. The University of Minnesota was founded in 1851 and now has four branch campuses and is one of the largest, most comprehensive schools in the US and ranks among the top in many fields, such as chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, economics, and psychology.
