In 2002, Shanxi University signed an agreement with Aston University and sent the first group of undergrads there for study. The program is referred to as the “3+1”program for a bachelor’s degree, meaning, the students spend three years at Shanxi University, then go to Aston University for their final year. Over the last decade, about 20 to 30 undergrads have been sent to UK for study.
