A seminar on the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements was held on Sept 25 at Shanxi University (SXU).

The event was hosted by Shanxi Development and Reform Commission and Shanxi Provincial Education Department. 

The aim was to accelerate government-industry-teaching-research cooperation targeting 14 major strategic emerging industrial clusters to be developed in Shanxi province, improve conditions for the commercialization of tech achievements, and advance Shanxi's economic transformation and growth.

More than 300 people, including representatives from more than 30 colleges and universities across the province, participated in the session. 

Zhao Rui, director of the science, technology and information technology division at the Shanxi Provincial Education Department, lauded SXU's contribution to the advancement of technological research and innovation and the commercialization of tech achievements, which had helped progress the province's socioeconomic development. 

He urged the university to continue in its role as a springboard for the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and technology transfers.
