A project launch and implementation plan meeting for the spaceborne laser power-amplifier project was held at Shanxi University on March 20.
The project is a crucial part of the national key research and development plan and is led by Tsinghua University. Six universities and institutes, including Shanxi University and the Beijing Institute of Space Mechanics and Electricity, are also participating in the project.
The meeting was attended by a total of 12 project consultants, including Ye Xianji from Sun Yat-Sen University and researcher Zhang Lihua from China Spacesat Co, along with 40 provincial government officials and officials from Shanxi University.
Zhang Tiancai, vice-president of Shanxi University, expressed the hope that experts would provide suggestions on the project's implementation plan and technical support for building a large-scale ground observation device for gravitational wave detection based on quantum light sources.
The project's leader, Liu Qiang from Tsinghua University, told attendees about the key scientific issues of the project, the main research content and objectives, the project implementation plan, the research work foundation and the project's funding and management methods.
The experts put forward suggestions at the meeting on the scientific techniques and tasks, utilization of funds, the organization and management system, result presentation form and testing methods related to the project.
