Shanxi University (SXU) in North China's Shanxi province completed the first shots of more than 25,000 teachers and students by March 31 since it launched COVID-19 vaccination work on March 29.

To ensure the immunization program progressed smoothly, the university quickly established a work leadership team, organized a vaccination support team, completed the work process plan and arranged vaccine applications, vaccination venues and personnel.

Outdoor waiting areas, inquiry areas, vaccination areas, information recording areas and medical observation and treatment areas were set up at the university's temporary vaccination sites. All people being vaccinated move in one direction, which has improved vaccination efficiency.

The university's inoculation program has been supported by Taiyuan Emergency Center (The Ninth People's Hospital of Taiyuan), with some 40 medical workers from the center working on site. The university also arranged nearly 500 young volunteers to assist in the vaccination program.
