Suzhou Metro Transit's Line 6, Line 8 further construction

New progress has been made recently on the construction of Suzhou Rail Transit's Line 6 and Line 8, which pass through Suzhou New District.

The main construction of Suzhou Xinqu Railway Station and Chengjilu Station, two stations on Line 6 in SND, has been capped.

Construction began in November 2018. The 36.12-kilometer Line 6 will run from Suzhou Xinqu Railway Station to Sangtiandao Station, with a total of 31 stations. It is expected to open to the public in June 2024, facilitating the travel of residents in Xushuguan town.

Line 8 has two stations in SND, which are Xijinqiao Station and Changjianglu Station. The main construction of Changjianglu Station is ongoing.

The 35.5-km Line 8 is scheduled to start operation in 2024. When it opens, passengers on Line 8 will be able to transfer to Line 3 at Xijinqiao Station and Tangzhuang Station.

At present, SND has Line 1, Line 3, and Line 5 in operation, while Line 6 and Line 8 under construction.
