Sponsored by the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Convention and Exhibition Affairs, Taiwan Exhibition and Convention Association, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, the forum aimed to enhance cooperation and boost mutual development of the exhibition sector of the four regions.

As the first of its kind in the Chinese mainland, the forum attracted more than 200 exhibition organizations and companies.

According to Wang Qiong, director of the Xiamen Bureau of Convention and Exhibition Affairs, "The forum is one of Xiamen's efforts to improve its globalization capability and learn from the success of other regions." He also voiced his wish that the forum can attract more countries and regions and serve as a platform for cross-Straits and even Asia-Pacific regions to strengthen partnership and expand the exhibition market around the world.

Officials of three other authorities also shared the exhibition industry features, advantages and success stories in their own regions.

A negotiation meeting was held on the same day with 100 exhibition enterprises seeking cooperation opportunities with Xiamen's 200 exhibition organizations.

On Nov 8, delegations from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao were also invited to visit Xiamen's exhibition centers to better understand Xiamen's exhibition sector.
