Entry port cuts service fees to boost international trade

(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated:2016-04-08

The authority of the entry port in Xiamen city, Fujian province canceled several fees for customs declaration and inspection services on April 1.

The exempted costs include a 15 yuan fee for data transmission levied on customs brokers for each registration for a customs declaration. Access fees for each registration for inspection - three yuan for the import and export firms and 5 yuan for the customs brokers – are also removed.

The 15 yuan fee for data transmission levied on import and export firms for each registration for a customs declaration was lifted on June 1, 2015, in compliance with China's General Administration of Customs.

An official from the commerce bureau of Xiamen estimated that almost 40 million yuan ($6.2 million) will be saved by the firms and brokers in 2016 because of the cuts, which will be absorbed by the local government.
