Australia to send their Special Envoy for Trade to 19th fair

(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated:2016-08-12

Former Australian trade and  investment minister and Special Envoy for Trade Andrew Robb will attend this  year’s 19th China International Fair for Investment & Trade.

During his tenure as Australia’s  trade minister, Robb signed the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement in Canberra  in June 2015, alongside China’s minister of commerce Gao Hucheng. The FTA came  in effect in December 2015 and is set to benefit bilateral trade and boost  cooperation in various areas.

Now acting as a Special Envoy for  Trade, Robb’s attendance at the 19th CIFIT is expected to enhance  Australia’s presence at the September fair in Xiamen, Fujian  province.

Australia will have a dedicated  exhibition space at the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center,  the main venue of the CIFIT. 50 companies in fields of agriculture, health care,  realty and education will show off their strengths at the 700 square meters  space. The Australian Business Forum (ABF)  will have a stand-alone exhibition space at the same venue and be hosting the  Australia China BusinessWeek 2016.
