Luis Revilla, the mayor of La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, is leading a delegation to visit Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, from Aug 4 to 11.

Zhuang Jiahan, mayor of Xiamen, met with the delegation on Aug 6.

Zhuang briefed them on the economic and social achievements Xiamen has made since China's reform and opening-up and the city's experience in treating waste water and garbage.

He hoped the two cities will strengthen exchanges and expand cooperation in various fields.

Revilla spoke highly of the achievements the Chinese city has made over the past 40 years, adding that La Paz will continue learning about Xiamen's advanced principles and success in urban planning and management.

The Bolivian delegation visited Xiamen's wastewater treatment plants and the Xiamen Public Transport Group to explore the city's practice in public transportation management, garbage sorting and wastewater treatment during their stay in the Chinese city.

Revilla also attended the delivery ceremony on Aug 8 of their third bulk purchase of buses from Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co, a leading vehicle manufacturer in China.

To date, King Long has exported more than 15,000 buses to the South American country.
