Headed by Ken Takasaki, a world famous expert in hepatobiliary surgery, a Japanese medical delegation visited Xiamen, Fujian province from March 1 to 2 at the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Shao Yuqin, deputy director of Xiamen's foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, expressed his wishes to further enhance exchanges and cooperation with Japan in medical treatment and elderly care at a meeting with the Japanese delegation members.

The delegation visited local old people's homes and related medical companies during their stay in the city, including Jincuobian Old People's Home, Haicang Biomedical Port, which gathers large numbers of innovative biomedical companies, and Tasman Bioengineering Co, which specializes in traditional Chinese herbal medicines.

They showed great interest in the city's elderly care, biomedical and Chinese herbal medicine cultivation industries, which laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.

It was the second time that the CPAFFC has introduced high-end Japanese medical resources to Xiamen. In 2015, at the invitation of CPAFFC, a delegation of Iskra Industry Co Ltd, a Chinese patent medicine trader, visited Xiamen.
