Muriel Brodure-Willain, councillor of the Belgian province of Liege in charge of education and training affairs, led a delegation to Xiamen, Fujian province from Sept 7 to 10.

She attended the 2019 China International Fair for Investment & Trade, or CIFIT, where she introduced the rich educational resources in Liege and sought cooperation with local schools and educational institutions.

In addition to setting up a stand at the 2019 CIFIT, the councillor also visited the Xiamen Youth Palace and two other vocational schools – Xiamen Information School and Jimei Industrial College.

Liege province inked a letter of intent to cooperate with Xiamen Information School and invited students and teachers from Xiamen Youth Palace to visit Liege in October of this year.

The Belgian delegation also expressed interest in the programs available at Jimei Industrial College, including digital control, industrial robotics, drones and microelectronic technology control.

Located in central Europe, Liege is the second largest river port and convention center on the continent. Relying on the close relations between Liege and Fujian, Xiamen has conducted frequent exchanges with the Belgian province in terms of economy, education and culture over the past several years.
