(fao.xm.gov.cn) Updated:2020-10-14

In response to reports of new COVID-19 cases in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, the Xiamen Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Oct 12 issued an urgent notice regarding the health management of people entering Xiamen from Qingdao.

The notice states that people entering Xiamen from Qingdao after Sept 28 must voluntarily receive nucleic acid tests at local medical institutions after taking strict epidemic prevention measures.

Those who have potentially come into contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases in Qingdao, or have visited the Qingdao Chest Hospital after Sept 28, must voluntarily report to the community where they are residing and take epidemic prevention measures in accordance with the Xiamen government's requirements.

The notice also urges Xiamen residents to refrain from visiting Qingdao unless necessary. Those who need to travel to the city must take strict epidemic prevention measures, record their travel history in detail and report to local authorities after returning to Xiamen.

The center has advised residents to always wear a mask in public areas, wash their hands frequently, keep indoor spaces well-ventilated, maintain social distancing, avoid gatherings and to partake of meals in individual servings.

Those who experience fever, cough, diarrhea and fatigue must head to the nearest fever clinic in a timely manner. Such individuals must also wear a medical mask and avoid taking public transportation while on the way to the clinic.
