Xiamen Port in East China's Fujian province added a new international route on Nov 7, which marked its 15th new international route to open this year.

To date, Xiamen Port has established a total of 107 international routes, connecting 142 ports from 50 countries and regions across the world.

The new route links Northeast Asia, China, and Southeast Asia, with ports like Busan Port in the Republic of Korea, Xiamen Port, Port Klang in Malaysia, and Laem Chabang Port in Thailand as berthing ports.

Four ships from shipping companies SITC International Holdings Co, Korea Marine Transport Co, Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation, and Ocean Network Express Pte will be operating on the new route.

The first ship of the new route, the SITC Licheng container ship, docked at the Xiamen Haitian Container Terminal in Xiamen Port on Nov 7 and docked in Xiamen for more than 10 hours.

On the first trip, the ship adopted the weather navigation service of Silk Road Shipping for the first time for more efficient shipping.

It is a technology with China holding independent intellectual property rights in the long voyage meteorological navigation field. It was jointly developed by meteorological departments, transportation departments, universities and institutes, as well as related alliances.
