April 21 marked the seventh anniversary of the founding of the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

Since its establishment on April 21, 2015, the Xiamen FTZ has ensured its commitment to serving the new development pattern and piloting reform and high-level opening-up.

The area has launched 508 innovative measures, 111 of which were first of their kinds in China. It has also carried out 69 national pilot schemes involving a wide range of fields such as bonded aircraft maintenance and bonded integrated circuit research and development.

Its efforts to boost the digital economy have also bore fruit as the first batch of digital application scenarios started operations, including a digital international wine platform, a cross-border e-commerce comprehensive service platform, an imported products source-tracing system and a trade digitalization exhibition.

Forty digitalization projects with a total investment of 11 billion yuan ($1.7 billion) were also signed in the Xiamen FTZ.

In recent years, the Xiamen FTZ has also fully utilized its geographical advantages by linking the Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region to become a key logistics node under the dual-circulation development pattern.

It launched the country's first China-Europe train that departed from an FTZ and currently operates three railway freight routes reaching 34 cities in 12 countries and regions across the Eurasian continent.
