The 2023 BRICS Exchange Training Workshop on New Industrial Revolution Technology and Governance was officially inaugurated on Nov 15 in Xiamen.
The Foreign Affairs Office of the Xiamen Municipal People's Government has invited four government officials from relevant fields in Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, and Thailand to participate in this program. The move was aimed at promoting cooperation among these nations in the realm of emerging technologies.
The training workshop aims to strengthen cooperation between BRICS countries, emerging market countries, and developing countries in the field of emerging technologies. The goal is to ensure that emerging digital technologies benefit peoples from all nations and provide a fresh impetus for South-South Cooperation.
The training workshop will be focused on the current status and future of the digital economy, the development of artificial intelligence, and other areas. The training will involve face-to-face lectures, panel discussions, and field visits to enterprises.
During the training period, participants will visit leading new industrial enterprises such as Tencent and Huawei, as well as representative enterprises of Xiamen's digital economy like Hithium Energy Storage.
At present, Xiamen is focusing on having the BRICS Innovation Center serve as a carrier for deepening cooperation with BRICS nations and other countries in the fields of digitalization, industrialization, innovation, and investment.
