Huang Wenhui, mayor of Xiamen in Southeast China's Fujian province, met with Ismail Hakki Musa, Turkish Ambassador to China, and his delegation on March 18.

Huang welcomed the ambassador, stating that Xiamen was one of the first special economic zones to be established in China, and is also a pilot free trade zone and strategic support point city for maritime cooperation.

Xiamen has well-developed land, sea, and air transportation connections to all continents, and boasts a high degree of openness and a superior business environment.

In recent years, Xiamen and Turkiye have enjoyed close ties in the fields of industry, trade, and culture. Xiamen is willing to work with the Turkish side to carry out more exchanges and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative in hopes of yielding more fruitful results and contributing to the China-Turkiye strategic cooperative relationship, Huang added.

Musa expressed his gratitude for the warm reception.

He stated that the longstanding friendly relations between Turkiye and China will be maintained, and the country will continue to promote traditional friendship and further enhance exchanges and interactions with Xiamen in various fields.

This will facilitate mutual investment and trade, promote mutual understanding, and enhance people-to-people exchanges, ultimately benefiting the people of both places, Musa added.
