Senior officials meet Latin American members of parliament
On June 25, Lin Baojin, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provincial People's Congress, met with a delegation of Latin American members of parliament attending a seminar in Xiamen.
Yang Guohao, director of the Standing Committee of Xiamen Municipal People's Congress, and Chen Zixuan, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Xiamen Municipal People's Congress, also met with the delegation.
Lin briefed the visitors on the high-quality economic and social development in Fujian, as well as the efforts of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress in upholding the rule of law and practicing whole-process people's democracy.
He emphasized the deep historical ties between Fujian and Latin America and highlighted the accelerated expansion of commerce and trade cooperation between Fujian and Latin American countries under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The delegation members were from seven countries including Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama.
They expressed their admiration for China and Fujian's strong achievements in economic and social development, recognizing the future prospects for expanding China-Latin America cooperation.
