The 19th Huizhou Ancient City Folk Culture Festival was launched on Feb 4 in Shexian county, Huangshan, kicking off the exciting start of the Spring Festival season. The event turned the historic streets into a luminous display, featuring a spectacular gathering of intangible cultural heritage fish lanterns from all over China.

This grand display featured rare lanterns from provinces including Fujian, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, and various Anhui counties. The opening ceremony featured the graceful dance ''Fish Shadows Grace Xin'an''.

A key outcome was the establishment of the Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Fish Lantern Cultural Exchange and Cooperation Platform. This initiative underscores Shexian county's leading role in innovating and promoting this traditional art form.

By integrating culture and tourism, the festival creates a foundation for additional Chinese New Year activities. It promises a culturally rich Spring Festival for all visitors.
