On Feb 8, the "Happy Spring Festival · Beautiful Anhui in Malaysia" tourism promotion and RCEP painting & calligraphy exhibition opened in Penang, Malaysia.
Yang Shunxing, Malaysia's Deputy Tourism Chair, stated that Malaysia values cultural and tourism ties with China. He noted that the Anhui art exhibition and the Four Treasures Expo offer a cultural feast and effectively promote further collaboration.
Huang Hanwei, Penang's Chief Minister representative, extended a warm welcome and expressed his hope of deepening cooperation with Anhui in areas such as intangible cultural heritage preservation, cultural tourism, and trade. "I also hope to visit Huangshan, the most fantastic mountain under heaven," he said.
Anhui's tourism appeal was showcased through six themes — Huangshan, ancient villages, Huizhou culture, wellness, cuisine, and innovation — sparking keen interest among many Malaysians.
Xuancheng city unveiled the “Hometown of Xuan Paper” route, inviting Malaysian friends to trace the history of ink-making, and connect with the enduring threads of China's cultural heritage.
The event featured traditional performances like Huangmei Opera alongside cutting-edge tech from iFlytek and 37 Interactive. AI-powered holographic scrolls and an Xuan paper workshop offered visitors an immersive taste of Anhui's culture-tech fusion.
During the event, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province and Penang's State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee signed a strategic agreement to deepen their long-term cooperation.
