The Huizhou fish lantern roadshow from Shexian county made its second stop in Alicante on Feb 28, local time, bringing eastern intangible cultural heritage to Spanish streets to great acclaim.
At the event, Wang Congli and Wang Zhen, overseas promotion ambassadors for Shexian fish lanterns and representatives of the Spain Anhui Huangshan Chamber of Commerce, presented a fish lantern to Ana Poquet Mas, director of the Alicante Tourism Board, while detailing the lantern's historical significance through exhibition panels.
"This fish lantern is so beautiful. I love it and now I want to visit China to see it in person," the director said, showing keen interest in the traditional craft.
In addition to photo displays, the roadshow featured immersive interactive sessions where locals learned to paint fish lanterns, making eastern culture feel tangible and accessible.
The Spanish tour continues with upcoming stops in Benidorm from March 6-7, followed by an interactive experience at Elizabeth International School in Benitachell on March 13. The fish lanterns will continue bridging language and cultural gaps, showcasing Huizhou's rich traditional culture while deepening Sino-Spanish cultural exchange.
