Three major international events in Huangshan generated new partnerships and sustainability initiatives, underscoring the eastern Chinese city's rising role in global cooperation.
A series of high-level gatherings unfolded in the city over one week, including the 2026 RCEP Local Government and Friendship Cities Cooperation (Huangshan) Forum, the Global Mayors Dialogue · Huangshan, and the 5th Huangshan Dialogue on UNESCO-designated Sites and Sustainable Development, bringing together officials, scholars and business leaders from around the world.

The events yielded concrete outcomes beyond just discussions. At the RCEP forum, 20 cooperation projects were signed, and local companies established trade agreements with Malaysian partners, allowing Huangshan's specialty products to expand into international markets. Participants also launched an initiative to strengthen regional exchanges under the RCEP framework.

Sustainability also emerged as a central theme. Delegates explored Huangshan's approach to balancing ecological protection with economic growth through heritage conservation, green industries, and low-carbon tourism. At the UNESCO dialogue, representatives from 35 countries and regions examined how digital technologies can strengthen the protection and management of heritage sites.
The events also showcased Huizhou culture and China's technological innovation, offering international guests a closer look at a city where ecological conservation, cultural heritage, and modern development advance together.
As Huangshan welcomes more international exchanges, it presents itself not only as a world-renowned scenic destination but also as a meeting point for cooperation, sustainable development, and cultural dialogue.
