To adapt to the new situation of development, Miyun Economic Development Zone, originally built in 1992, set up three major functional areas, an A area, B area and business area.

After 20 years of development, the park has an area of 12.55 square meters and 217 enterprises, among which 178 are industrial enterprises.

In 2012, the park had an income of 20.19 billion yuan ($3.29 billion), an increase of 68.6 percent over 2010 and accounting for 65 percent of the total income of the county. The park paid 1.68 billion yuan in taxes, an increase of 78 percent over 2010.

The county-level income made by the park was 423 million yuan, making a contribution of 19.1 percent to the county’s public budget income.

The number of employment was 33,000, an increase of 5,200 over 2010. The gross industrial output value of above-scale enterprises was 17.41 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 30.8 percent and ranking first among the five ecological conservation areas.

In 2010, to build Beijing into an international city with Chinese characteristics, Miyun Park set up an ecological business area and a green and low-carbon ecological base. In 2012, the business area paid 100 million yuan in taxes, a year-on-year growth of 1.1 times.

Miyun Park has five major industries, including automobile and parts, new building material, food and beverage, electronic information and biological medicine industries.

In 2012, the industrial income made by automobile and parts, green food and biological medicine industries was 11.87 billion yuan, 3.48 billion yuan and 590 million yuan, respectively.
