Huairou Science City to build 18 projects

Updated: Jan 9, 2018 L M S

Huairou Science City, a sub-park of Zhongguancun Science Park, is expected to begin construction on 18 projects this year.

Four large-scale science installations - the earth system numerical simulation device, the high-energy synchrotron radiation light source, the second stage of the meridian project, and the multi-modal trans-scale biomedical imaging facilities - are all slated to begin construction soon. When completed, the new installations will help to advance scientific research in the region.

Another 14 projects will go toward the construction of the Beijing Huairou Comprehensive National Science Center and related facilities.

Huairou Science City also plans to further improve its service facilities in order to attract more world-class talent, with hopes of bringing together leading researchers from around the country, officials say. Construction on schools, commercial buildings, and parks will begin soon as well.

Public transportation between Huairou Science City and the main arteries of Beijing, particularly downtown, will also soon be seeing improvements, making it much easier to get to and from the remotely-located science park.
