Zhongguancun West Forum kicks off

The Second Zhongguancun West Forum was held in Peking University on Jan 12, which included discussion on how to develop high-end manufacturing and service economy using an advanced form of technology known as "Internet of Things".

The forum gathered more than 200 representatives from local government, prominent companies, and universities, in order to promote the construction of a national scientific and technological innovation center in Beijing, and to discuss the overall development of the region, namely Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province.

Weng Qiwen, deputy head of Zhongguancun Science Park's administrative committee, said that the forum focuses on the development of cutting-edge technologies and the integration of industrial resources.

Guo Yinghui, president of the Beijing Science Park Development Group (BSD) and an organizer of the forum, said that the IoT has become a key component in optimizing efficiency and that his company is willing to provide IoT services to companies and startups.

Moving forward, the forum will continue to build Zhongguancun into a center for cutting-edge technology and economic and industrial development, hoping that it will become a driver for the transformation and upgrading of China's high-tech industries.
