Cummins, Novo Nordisk to settle in Zhongguancun

World-renowned companies such as Cummins, the world's biggest diesel engine manufacturer, and Novo Nordisk, a leading pharmaceutical company based in Denmark, will set up branches in Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park, said the Chaoyang government on Jan 17.

As of 2017, the park has attracted more than 30 Fortune 500 companies, including Apple R & D (Beijing) Co Ltd, Mercedes-Benz, and Hewlett-Packard.

The park is also home to 841 national high-tech enterprises, with over 170 enterprises settling in the area's Dawangjing International Science and Technology Business District, nearly 30 of which have a registered capital of over 100 million yuan ($15.54 million).

In 2018, the park plans to continue efforts to attract high-end companies at home and abroad. It will also strengthen management of its incubation platform and improve services to spur innovation and entrepreneurship in the park.

Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park will also promote innovation in fields such as information technology, biomedical technology, new energy, energy-efficient technologies, and internet plus.

From January to November 2017, the total revenue of the Park rose to 447.44 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.3 percent. Total revenue from the four major fields of advanced manufacturing technology, electronics and information, bioengineering and new medicine, and new energy and energy-efficient technologies reached 324.57 billion yuan, accounting for 72.5 percent of the total revenue of the park.
