Zhongguancun allies with innovators to advance Beijing as tech center

Zhongguancun Science Park launched an alliance on Jan 22 to unite higher education colleges, innovation-oriented companies, integrated civil-military units, science and technology organizations and overseas experts for the park's further construction.

The alliance aims to create synergies to enhance integration of regional innovation resources through mutual and in-depth cooperation. It will contribute to Beijing's development as the national science and technology innovation center.

Chen Jining, mayor of Beijing, said, "Building Beijing into the national science and technology innovation center is the capital's major strategic task. We should grasp historical opportunities and take technological innovation as the main driving force for promoting Beijing's high-quality development. "

Zhongguancun-based innovation giants, such as Baidu, Lenovo, Huawei, Didi, Microsoft China, Cambrian and Face ++, are included in the alliance.

China's AI leading company Face ++ brought its facial recognition sign-in system to the launching ceremony; it allowed guests to sign in just by standing for a second before a screen.
