Zhongguancun Science Park - China's first science park, which dates back to the late 1980s - is a multibillion dollar affair that is spearheading Beijing's technological innovation and contributing to the country's coordinated development.

No 1 UISEE's driverless electrocar

Uisee Technology, a Zhongguancun company that provides self-driving solutions, launched the first-ever autonomous self-driving electric vehicle targeted on urban mobile spaces at the CES 2017 on Jan 5, 2017.

The unmanned car has a circular row of seats inside but is without a steering wheel or dashboard. The whole car is equipped with sensors and covered with screens inside and out, allowing passengers to interact and communicate with pedestrians.

The BBC described the company as "China's only company that can commercialize both partially automated driving and driverless driving in controlled environments within three years".
