Zhongguancun Science Park - China's first science park, which dates back to the late 1980s - is a multibillion dollar affair that is spearheading Beijing's technological innovation and contributing to the country's coordinated development.

There are a bevy of bright active companies in Zhongguancun that always follow cutting-edge technology, heading forward. The year of 2017 witnessed all their breakthroughs and revolutions as they contributed to Zhongguancun's science and technology development.

No 6 Sensoro's sensor chip

Zhongguancun-based SENSORO Technology completed the independent R&D of the world's smallest dual-channel sensor chip- LPWAN, which is only half the size of a coin, on Aug 11.

The chip enables a smoke sensor to monitor smoke within an area of 40 square meters, and communicate wirelessly within 10 kilometers. It ensures that any changes in combustible gas levels are monitored to preserve safety.

Earlier on May 14 the company announced that it had rolled out its smart guide service on buses, art galleries, museums, and libraries in the city of Manchester in the UK. The service uses big data to create a communication network within a 10-kilometer radius around each attraction.

The network grants people immediate access to information while they are in the area.
