Some 20 representatives from 13 mainstream media were impressed by the rhythms of innovation and entrepreneurship in Beijing, a capital of technology and creativity, on May 29.

Media representatives of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries paid a visit to Beijing's Zhongguancun Science Park, also known as China's Silicon Valley.

In Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science and Technology Park, a sub-park featuring one-station services and startup incubation, reporters gave their thumbs up for its business-friendly environment.

"Beijing plays a leading role in the global frontier of technology innovation," said a Tajikistan media chief, "and young entrepreneurs embrace the idea of innovation with which they can accomplish something massive".

"Zhongguancun Science Park, from where I am standing, provides the optimal ecosystem for the youth to make their dreams come true," he said.

The media representatives also had a close look at several notable Zhongguancun enterprises, such as robotics manufacturer Ninebot Co, digital display provider Leyard Group and facial recognition unicorn Megvii Inc.

"These high-tech companies are developing on a fast-paced track," a journalist from Belarus said in admiration, "Belarusian companies should follow in their paths and try to catch up".

According to her, China-developed devices like smartphones, computers and self-balancing scooters are already ubiquitous in Minsk, capital of Belarus. The visiting group rounded off their trip in Zhongguancun's innovation center and experienced cutting-edge technologies covering artificial intelligence, voice recognition and augmented reality.
