BISU participates in the drafting of the Specification for Tour Guide Service
Updated: April 3, 2024

The Specification for Tour Guide Service (GB/T 15971-2010) (Specification), jointly drafted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) and Beijing International Studies University (BISU), was put into effect on April 1.

Commissioned by the Market Management Department of the MCT, Han Yuling, professor at BISU's China Academy for Tourism Talent Development, led a team to revise the Specification.

The revision was completed after more than three years of continuous research and relentless modification.

The latest edition incorporates new requirements for tour guides, based on the existing tour guide management system. It has made significant breakthroughs in standardizing related expressions, updating and adding new requirements, as well as adding the evaluation of tour guide service quality.

Its implementation will provide an important reference for assessing the quality of tour guide services. It will also play a significant role in constructing and managing a strong tour guide team and regulating and improving the guide services.

BISU's China Academy for Tourism Talent Development, led by experts in the industry, has been committed to the research and cultivation of tourism professionals and has achieved fruitful results.
