Chang pointed out that BISU has had a competitive edge in Japanese since its founding, earning a series of achievements. He stressed the role played by the young people in friendly exchanges between China and Japan, which are close neighbors that can learn from each other. He said he looked forward to further cooperation with JIU in exchange activities and joint research.

Masato introduced the history of JIU and its exchanges with Chinese universities. He said that Josai University was the first institution in Japan to establish cooperative relations with Chinese universities and has made important contributions to the cultural exchanges between China and Japan.

He pointed out that JIU has cooperated with more than 220 institutions around the world and he himself has visited China more than 100 times. He said that studying in another country is conducive to students' ability of observing, thinking and grasping the language and culture of that country. He hoped that students of the two universities can engage in exchange activities to have a deeper understanding of the cultural and social background of China and Japan.

The two sides signed the Academic Exchange Agreement after the meeting, marking the formal establishment of the cooperative relationship.
