Beijing International Studies University (BISU) and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality jointly hosted the 2024 Summer Program on "An Overview of Modern China and City Development" and the 2024 Workshop for Officials from Beijing's Sister Cities from July 8 to 19.
Nearly 30 international participants from 12 countries learned about the achievements of the Chinese modernization through various specialized lectures in the two-week program.
A rich array of courses were provided, ranging from "Introduction to the Chinese Path to Modernization and Urban Development", "Sustainable Development and Its Cultural Origins" to "Trends and Behavioral Characteristics of China's Outbound Tourism Consumption in the New Era", revolving around topics such as politics, diplomacy, tourism, trade, culture and taxation.
Many field trips were organized, including visits to the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall, the Beijing Library and the Xiongan New Area, as well as iFLYTEK and Beijing High-Level Automated Driving Demonstration Area.

The program blends intellectual exchange and exploration, sparking international and intercultural communications.
Starting from the fall semester of 2024, BISU will offer its pioneering master's program in "Modern China and City Development" to international students, with an aim to cultivate global talent with a focus on supporting China's modernization.
