BISU team attends EIBA 2024 Annual Conference in Finland

Beijing International Studies University's Associate Professor Gao Qiuling led two master's students, Bao Xinjie and Zhang Zhaoyi, to attend the European International Business Academy (EIBA) 2024 Annual Conference held in Aalto University in Finland.

The event attracted renowned scholars from around the world to discuss cutting-edge developments and the latest findings in international business research.

The BISU team delivered presentations in the sub-forums "Innovation and IB" and "Topics in Environmental Management", focusing on topics such as multinational enterprises in emerging market, foreign direct investment, and green innovation.

In the sub-forum, Gao Qiuling presented the paper "How Do CEOs' Educational Backgrounds Promote Green Innovation in Chinese Companies? Insights from an Imprinting Theory Perspective", which systematically analyzed the impact mechanism of executives' educational backgrounds on corporate green innovation. Discussions with attending scholars revolved around the theoretical framework and empirical research.

Zhang Zhaoyi presented the paper "Green Innovation and Environmental, Social, and Governance Performance of EMNEs: Why Are Political Affiliations Important?" This paper deeply explored the critical role of political affiliations in the sustainable development strategies of emerging market multinational enterprises. The work received positive feedback from the experts present.

This international academic exchange provided valuable opportunities for BISU's faculty and students, showcasing the research strength of BISU's Business School in the field of international business and laying a solid foundation for promoting academic collaboration and expanding international perspectives.

Through in-depth dialogues with domestic and international experts, the faculty and students of the Business School gained insights in research methods, academic thinking, and disciplinary frontiers.

In the future, the university will continue to encourage faculty and students from various departments to participate in high-level international academic conferences, promote research innovation and international development, and further enhance BISU's influence in the international academic community.
