Daxing district is an open gate in southern Beijing lying between the capital's sub-center Tongzhou district and the Xiongan New Area in Hebei province. 

According to the 2016-2035 overall plans for Beijing's urban development, the new airport will be settled in Daxing; it's also a pilot area for rural land reform. 

The district will develop a real economy and build innovative industry clusters and a demonstration area for manufacturing in an effort to develop a new growth engine in southern Beijing.

Daxing has advantages in geological location and transportation. Since the country is promoting Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, Daxing will make good use of its strength in location, technological innovation and commercialization of scientific achievements to join the bigger blueprint of regional collaborative development in industries, traffic and ecology.

For example, many companies have moved from Daxing to Hebei province to ease the "big city malaise" of the capital.

Daxing also co-built three industrial parks in Hebei cities involving big data, e-commerce, intelligent equipment, biological medicine and other industries. 

Daxing will continue to enhance cooperation and communications with Hebei province in prevention and treatment of air pollution and improvement of the ecological environment, to play its role in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development.
