The 19th Daxing Caiyu Grape Tourism and Culture Festival, with the theme of "drawing the blueprints, looking forward to the future", opened in Daxing district on August 18. The event will last until October.

At the opening ceremony, the Daxing Cultural and Tourism Bureau released a series of activities with a theme of "Spring and Golden Autumn Tourism". 

Of particular note was Daxing Caiyu town’s introduction of preferential picking activities during the harvest season so tourists can enjoy the joy of fruit picking and experience pastoral life.

Known for its charming natural scenery and sweet grapes, Caiyu is a popular summer destination for both locals and visitors alike.

All guests can taste hawthorn cake, sausage, steamed-buckwheat and other snacks. They also can experience the production process of black pottery, relief printing and other historical cultural heritages.

Other events have also been organized.

During the grape festival, the town will hold mass cultural activities including square dance competitions, square literary and artistic performances to strengthen patriotic education and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China.

Eight thematic tourism promotions ranging from collection and display of cultural works to chances to sample local pickles will be held.

Caiyu will promote the standardized management of grape gardens in an orderly way.

At present, six star folk households and three star folk villages have been reviewed and evaluated. Meanwhile, promotion and unification of grape stalls is planned and is expected to accelerate the quality and efficiency of Caiyu’s tourism units and advance its rural tourism standardization.
